Session description: SALT (Speech Application Language Tags) enables multimodal and telephony-enabled access to information, applications, and Web services from PCs, telephones, and wireless handheld devices. SALT extends existing markup languages such as HTML, XHTML, and SVG. This tutorial focuses on the SALT tags and object model and the recent SALT developments, including the SALT profiles and conformance testing.
